About the Shō Poetry Prize
The Shō Poetry Prize is an editor’s choice award for the best poem in each issue of Shō.
The prize-winning poet receives $250 and a one-year subscription to Shō, starting with the next issue.
One runner-up will receive a one-year subscription to Shō.
Both the winner and runner-up will be given the opportunity to read their poem (or designate a person to read their poem on their behalf) for an Audio Feature, which will be posted on our social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), on SoundCloud, and on our website.
All poems accepted for publication will be considered for the Shō Poetry Prize, assuming the eligibility requirements listed below are met.
ELIGIBILITY
The Shō Poetry Prize is given to honor a poem by a poet at any stage of their career who is based in the United States and is a valid US taxpayer.
